Mediocre Work Doesn't

Your customers hear 3,000 marketing messages a day. You need to stand out to get attention, and get attention to
get results.

Here's how it werks:

Left BrainRight Brain

We're defined by who we are. Hardworking. Experts in both traditional and digital worlds. Lovers of great creative. Smart young talent out to make an impact.

Digital? Traditional? Yes. Meet a 21st Century Agency.

Traditional agencies know how to market, handle messaging, and identify an audience. But they’re clueless when it comes to the Internet.

Digital agencies, the ones that have grown up with and built the Internet, don’t understand traditional branding, messaging, print and broadcast advertising.

You need an agency that’s born of digital and traditional roots. You and your customers live online and offline. Shouldn’t your agency?

We embrace hard work as a virtue

We’re the agency that works.
Here are a few reasons why.

  1. Our background is both traditional and digital. We have an equal split in our founders between the two worlds and all of us live in both.
  2. We don’t work for our clients. We work for their prospects, customers, and constituents. If the audience doesn’t respond it doesn’t matter what our client thinks.
  3. Design matters. A lot. In fact, it’s amazing design work that gets attention and separates an organization from its competition.
  4. Communication is vital to good relationships.
  5. Marketing doesn’t come in a box. It’s not a product. It’s an ongoing process of understanding, creating, refining, and adjusting.
  6. Creative staff make an agency, not admin staff. Our creative staff are front and center, in meetings, and work directly with clients. Always.

Because Prior Experience Matters

We've worked for hundreds of clients and bring that along to inform every job we work on. Here are some organizations we've helped recently:

  • The American Red Cross
  • Autonomous Undersea Systems Institute

Every job gets a foreman

Eric Tapley // Managing Director

Before going to bed at night I read for a while to give myself a break from the day. My mind is always whirring with ideas, so it’s nice to get outside of the routine and journey to someplace in my imagination.

I’m right handed. I’ve always wanted to be ambidextrous - something about that just seems cool, that ability to use either hand to do whatever you want - but, alas, it’s my right that always reaches for the fork.

Before I graduated from college I put together a team at WPI to ride the Boston to New York AIDS Ride, a 3-day, 300-mile charity cycling event. It was incredible, and the first time in my life I really knew I could do anything I set my mind to.

I understand how the parts fit together.

Matthias Roberge // Creative Director

I am inspired everyday. After being in the creative industry for over a decade, that's important. Whether it's a visit to the MFA, reading a good book, or simply playing with my amazing kids, I'm always discovering new fuel to keep the creative engine running.

In the past I've worked for traditional ad agencies, print shops, interactive firms, and even a stint as a corporate in-house designer. Every position I've held has provided me with a different outlook and unique process, which helps me look at the work from multiple angles.

If I'm not on my laptop or spending quality time with the family, there is a good chance I'm in the basement tinkering with a vintage Honda motorcycle. It will run again, oh yes it will.

My workboots are never clean.

Adam Kaufmann // Art Director

His favorite toys growing up were McFarlane Action Figures. The detail that went into those was nothing short of amazing, he loved that something from a comic book could be brought to life and be able to be held onto keeping the detail intact. Its interesting that today he is still fascinated by it.

He began in the traditional ad world having a niche to bring BIG ideas to life. Seeing the clients eyes open up with excitement when the boards start flipping is what drives him to do what he does best. Create.

With the industry in constant change and the world adapting to new ways. Adam has as well. Merging the print world with the web world Adam has adapted to his environment. Overseeing all creative that leaves the company and getting his hands dirty in the trenches is what he loves.

"Nothing feels better then when someone sees what you have done for them and they become thrilled, eager to show the world. It's what makes up for all the craziness this industry brings."

Seriously. I build the Internet.

Tyler Shingleton // Interactive Director

Some people see me as the resident computer nerd, but I see myself as a skilled problem solver -- Freud would tell me this is my way of convincing myself I’m not a computer nerd.

My favorite, inspirational line from a song is:

“A-well-a don’t you know about the bird?
Well, everybody knows that the bird is the word!

Surfin’ Bird by The Trashmen (1963)

The craziest product I’ve ever dreamed up is a Bob Ross chia pet. Really, someone needs to do this post haste.

I’m a creature of habit. The last thing I do before going to bed is quadruple-check my alarm clock. It needs to be right, and details really matter to me. I want things to fit together right and work correctly.

Answering the call with BIG ideas.

Mediocre Work Doesn't

Logos + Identities

Logo and tagline for a groundbreaking new wind turbine company.

Local business networking groups need logo and identity love, too.

Lamparelli is a heating oil and energy services company steeped in tradition. Here’s one of the identities we’ve proposed to them to capture that.

Trying to brand a powerful online journal from the Centrist movement wasn’t easy. Enter the owl, America’s next political symbol. (Step aside, donkey and elephant).

Bringing one of America’s oldest and most respected labor and employment law firms to the intersection of “trust” and “modern.”

Communities Are Built One Brick At A Time

Twice a year we donate time and services to nonprofits we’ve selected for the Goodwerks project, our contribution toward building a better world. In addition to this we volunteer in our communities, make donations to important causes, and serve on nonprofit boards. This is how we do our part.

Goodwerks
